The Walker Aviation Museum Foundation recently held an essay contest for local school children to earn a scholarship for Camp Invention. The children wrote about the reasons they would like to go to Camp Invention. The foundation received several well-written essays and could not decide on just one, so two winners were chosen. Each received a $200 scholarship to attend the camp. Both winners were from Pecos Elementary School: Vanessa Laris and Martin Sanchez. Camp Invention is a national STEM based camp focused on giving kids hands on experience in team building, problem solving, inventing and discovering. It is slated for June 5-9.
