Dawn Lanice Moretto

September 3, 2014 • Obituaries

Moretto-Obit-PicDawn Lanice Moretto was born on Feb. 27, 1967, to Renato “Mo” and Reann Moretto in Susanville, California.

As a child Dawn was a happy and precocious little girl, always asking questions about life around her. She adored books as a baby that blossomed into a passion for reading that lasted throughout her life. Dawn loved music and shocked her family when she “crossed over” to country music, because she was a California girl through and through. Dawn thrived on trying new adventures, new ideas and loved sports including swimming, snow [auth] skiing, ice skating, roller blading, rock climbing (the higher the better), jogging, weight lifting and biking.

Dawn’s heart was fulfilled when she had her son, Justin. From the moment Justin was born, he filled her heart with love and joy. Justin completed her world and her smile was always brightest when she talked about her son and his many accomplishments.

Left behind to grieve her absence is her beloved son and his significant other Justin Crum and Tiffany Mahy and daughter Daijah Mahy of Roswell, NM; her parents, Renato “Mo” and Reann Moretto of Roswell, NM; her grandparents, Wanda Crusey and Ron Duncan both of Roswell, NM; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Rob” and Kyong “Ronny” Moretto and their children, Vittiorio, Gia, Hauna and Maria of Albuquerque, NM; her sister and brother-in-law Angela and Bruce Raabe and Tateyana Raabe of Henderson, NV.; and Dominique and Brandon Stoker and Ryder, Mason and Bella of Johnstown, CO.; her Uncle Chuck Duncan of Chico, CA, cousins Brian Duncan of Maryland and Nicolle Duncan of Chico, CA; her Aunt Leona Wright and Ray Carter, cousins Marcy Winchell and Eric Winchell all of Las Vegas, NV. Preceding her in death was her sister, Gia Marie Moretto and her paternal grandparents, Angelo and Maria Moretto.

A memorial and celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at 3 p.m., at the Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home, 2609 S. Main St, Roswell, NM.

In lieu of flowers, Dawn’s family are requesting donations be made in Dawn’s name, to the Roswell Refuge for Battered Adults, 1215 N. Garden Avenue, Roswell, NM 88201.
