New Mexico prison inmate found dead

CLAYTON, N.M. (AP) — Corrections Department officials say an inmate has been found dead at the Northeastern New Mexico Detention Facility.

Authorities said Jesus Dominguez was discovered unresponsive Monday during morning headcount and pronounced dead a short time later.

Officials say Clayton police were called to the scene and are now investigating the death as a homicide.

Authorities say other inmates are being interviewed.

No further details were available.
