Registration for the fall 2014 soccer season is underway. The Roswell Youth Soccer Association (RYSA) is holding registration at Cielo Grande from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, and Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 9-11 a.m. Age qualifications are as follows: children must be 3 by Aug. 1, 2014 and cannot be over the age of 12 as of Aug. 1, 2014. Fundraising lunch set for Aug. 25
The fourth annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s Fundraiser luncheon, sponsored by Comfort Keepers, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 25, at the Elk’s Lodge, located at 1720 N. Montana Ave.
The cost will be $10 per plate and the menu includes brisket, beans, potato salad, dinner roll and dessert. All the proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.

Line dancing classes to be offered

Dangers of texting while driving
The Roswell Chamber of Commerce and the Roswell Fire Department have teamed up to talk about the dangers of texting while driving. Always Patsy Cline to be performed

Dance workshop to be hosted
Children will learn how to tell a story by dancing at 9 a.m. Aug. 30 at Dexter UMC. Students will then dance at the 11 a.m. Sunday church service. Similarly, at 11 a.m., students can learn how to dance at Aldersgate UMC and dance in the 9 a.m. church service. Labor Day Concert to take place
The Roswell Symphony Orchestra will host its annual Labor Day Concert starting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 1. Roswell’s Zeta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa-International Honorary Organization for Women Educators (ADK) will start its 2014-15 year by meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, at the home of Patty Rodgers, 901 Belaire Drive. AARP driver safety course to take place
An evening class will be conducted from noon to 5 p.m., Sept. 11, at the Roswell Adult Center, 807 N. Missouri Ave. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. People must be 55 years old or older to attend.
