Police visit to Walmart leads to burglary suspects

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police say a man wanted in an auto burglary has been arrested after investigators searching for evidence at a Walmart found him shoplifting.

Police spokesman Tanner Tixier says employees saw [auth] 26-year-old James Sandoval shoplifting Friday afternoon.

Tixier says Sandoval allegedly brandished a hand gun when confronted.

A detective who was there to look at surveillance video of suspects in an auto burglary using stolen credit cards then pursued Sandoval.

Police say Sandoval was one of the suspects in the video.

Sandoval fled on foot but was found trying to hide inside a car.

Police say 20-year-old Daniel Rodriguez, a second burglary suspect, fled from the vehicle into a Home Depot but was arrested.

Sandoval faces at least one charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
