Restaurant lurking results in bust

A Roswell Police officer investigating a suspicious vehicle wound up arresting a man on a charge of marijuana on Sunday.

At about 10 p.m. an officer saw a vehicle parked behind Church’s Chicken at 104 S. Reed St. The officer found Felipe Larez, 58, and Richard Gonzales, 52, both of Roswell. Subsequently, the officer arrested Larez in connection with a charge of possession of marijuana. Gonzales was arrested on a charge of littering, according to the report.


Police investigate vehicle arson

Roswell Police responded to a vehicle fire on the 300 block of East Seventh Street at about 8:50 a.m. on Sunday.

A 1991 Winnebago was destroyed by fire, according to the report. The vehicle was valued at $3,000.

According to the report, the fire is being considered an arson.


Two arrested on drug charges

A man and a woman were arrested on a drug charge following a traffic stop on Sunday.

Erik D. Magallanes, 27, of Roswell, was arrested in connection with possession of marijuana after his car was stopped at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday in the 800 block of South Kentucky Avenue. According to police, the vehicle had an inoperable driver’s side brake light. Magallanes was in possession of a syringe and 8.6 grams of marijuana. Shannon Janell Madruga, 36, of Roswell, was also arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. According to police, she was in possession of a glass smoking device.


Traffic stop nets arrest

At 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, Roswell Police stopped a 1996 Chevrolet pickup in the 1000 block of South Kentucky Avenue for having an expired registration. Arrested was Armando Eljoe Aldaz, 33, of Roswell, in connection with a charge of unlawful use of Login to read more
