Cindy Jo Willard, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2014. A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at Christ’s Church at 2200 North Sycamore Avenue in Roswell on Tuesday, July 22, at 11 a.m. Pastor Gerry Chavez and Pastor Lonnie Owens will officiate.
She was born on November 5, 1959, in Phoenix, Ariz., to parents Paul and Dolores Watson. She is survived by the love of her life, Mark Willard; son Dane Peterson, daughters Katy Willard, and Haley Willard, grandmother Nellie Narramore, father Paul Watson, mother Dolores Watson, brother Mike Watson and wife Becky, and brother Leonard Watson and wife Lisa, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Watson and her grandfather Glen Narramore.
Over the years, she was a business woman in the community in the health care and legal professions as well as the local office manager for Congressman Steve Pearce, where she was a strong advocate for the public.
Her most recent profession was as senior provider advocate at United Healthcare, where she was responsible for education, outreach, project management and claims resolution.
She studied Home Economics in college and was a talented seamstress. She loved cooking, decorating, traveling and most of all spending time with her family. Her keen wit and sense of humor was a source of joy to many people. She loved to talk to everyone and made friends and connections with everyone she met.
She was passionate about caring for her community and gave back in many ways. Over the years, she gave her time and gifts to many organizations, including Christ’s Church Benevolence Ministry, Chaves County Republican Women’s Club, City of Roswell Commission on Aging, Roswell Women’s Club, Continuity of Care, Altrusa Club of Roswell Literacy, and Harvest Ministries. Cindy was recently appointed as a member of the board of the Eastern Regional Housing Authority.
Cindy was a very active and dedicated member of Christ’s Church since 1994 and she was a servant of the Lord. God used Cindy to minister and change many lives. She was filled with compassion and interest in others and was generous in shining her light in all of our lives. Cindy shared her love of Christ whenever possible and was a fervent prayer warrior. The highlight of the Christmas Eve service for many of her church family was her reading of the Christmas story.
