Roswell Police made several arrests over the weekend for drug and drug paraphernalia charges.
On Friday, police arrested Eric O. Thompson, 53, of Roswell in connection with charges of possession of marijuana, failure to appear and failure to comply.
Thompson was arrested in the 400 block of South Atkinson Avenue at about 3:50 Friday morning after a routine traffic stop. According to the police report, Thompson was driving on a revoked license and had two outstanding warrants.
According to police, Thompson had 7.3 grams of marijuana in a plastic wrapper.
Also on Friday, at about 2:30 a.m., Jacklyn V. Garcia, 22, of Roswell was arrested in connection with a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and failure to pay fines following a traffic stop in the intersection of the 1600 block of Southeast Main Street and Hobbs Street.
According to the report, Garcia had two containers of marijuana, one weighing 7.4 grams while the other weighed 4 grams.
Burglars damage door
Roswell Police responded to a report of a burglary in the 400 block of West College Boulevard at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday. A door to the home was damaged, with the cost estimated at $100, but nothing else was reported stolen.
Welfare check call results in arrest
At about 1 p.m. on Friday a Roswell Police officer responded to Roswell Credit Union at 2514 N. Main St. in reference to a request for a welfare check.
Devette Renee Archleta, 34, of Roswell, was arrested once the police arrived in connection with a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the report, Archleta had a spoon with brown residue and a needle in her possession.
Traffic stop results in arrest
On Friday at about 10:45 p.m., Roswell Police arrested Christopher Donald Tuckness, 32, of Roswell in connection with a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Hendricks Street and Cypress Avenue. The vehicle had an inoperable driver’s side brake light, according to the report. Police say Tuckness had a glass smoking device in his possession at the time of his arrest.
Alarm response finds damaged door, window
Roswell Police responded to a burglar alarm on the 1800 block of North Maryland Avenue early Saturday morning, where they discovered property damage. A window valued at $100 and a door frame valued at $50 had been damaged, presumably by would-be burglars. No arrests were reported and no items were reported stolen.
Thieves steal gun, shoes
At 8:49 a.m. on Saturday Roswell Police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the 1700 block of South Main Street. The owner of the vehicle reported the theft of a Smith & Wesson 40 caliber M&P handgun valued at $500 and a $100 pair of Nike shoes.
Man arrested on paraphernalia charge
Roswell Police arrested Ernest Paul Lisenbee, 27, of Roswell at 2:24 p.m. on Saturday in the 2300 block of North Main Street. Lisenbee was arrested in connection of a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the police report.
Vehicle, gun reported stolen
On Sunday at 11:23 p.m. Roswell Police responded to a report of a vehicle burglary in the 1000 block of South Plains Park Drive. A 2005 Nissan Xterra, valued at $10,000, was reported stolen. Also taken was a .45 caliber Hi Point handgun, valued at $400. The vehicle was last seen by the owner on Saturday.
Woman nabbed on shoplifting charge
Roswell Police responded to a shoplifting report at the Family Dollar store at 1010 S. Main St. at 4:56 p.m. on Saturday. Reports also came in from a nearby Sears and Dollar General of a shoplifting suspect who was walking in the area carrying two bags. Officers found Lorie A. Floyd, 38, at the scene and she was subsequently arrested, according to the police report.
Vandals shoot window
Roswell Police responded at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday to a report of a criminal damage in the 1100 block of North Kentucky Avenue. Police discovered a double pane glass window with wire mess screen had been shot out. Damage was estimated at $300.
Switchblade results in arrest
Roswell Police arrested a man for unlawful possession of a switchblade on Saturday afternoon. Michael J. Silva, 22, of Roswell was arrested in the 2100 block of North Main Street in connection with a charge of possession of a switchblade.
Gas drive-off investigated
At about 10:20 p.m. on Sunday Roswell Police responded to the Allsup’s 1500 N. Garden Ave., where someone stole $59 in gas from the convenience store, according to the report. Police have a suspect in the case, according to the report.
Drug paraphernalia results in arrest
Roswell Police responded to a report of possession of narcotics at about 10:24 p.m. on Saturday. Police arrested Emiliano V. Gauna, 24, no address given, in connection with a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on the 400 block of West Country Club Road.
Man arrested for DUI
Roswell Police arrested Michael Medina, 22, in connection with a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs at 2 a.m. on Sunday on the 2500 block West 2nd Street. Medina’s 2002 Nissan Acura was towed for safekeeping, according to the police report.
