3 suspects arrested in Las Cruces stabbing death

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) — Bond is set at $1 million apiece for three people arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing and burglary in Las Cruces.

Las Cruces police say 47-year-old Angel G. Sambrano and [auth] 31-year-old Michelle Burchett both are being held on suspicion of first-degree felony murder, aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon, conspiracy and tampering with evidence.

They say 49-year-old Pamela Quesada is being held on suspicion of aggravated burglary and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.

Police say 59-year-old George Curcie was stabbed early Monday and later died at a hospital.

They say Quesada allegedly drove Sambrano and Burchett to Curcie’s home with the intent of stealing a television from the victim and a physical altercation led to the stabbing.

Police say the three suspects were arrested at a Las Cruces motel.
