Brian Joseph Kauai was born on July 6, 1988, in San Bernardino, California. He attended many schools and excelled athletically and academically. Brian loved music and especially liked to write songs. He often wrote letters to his loved ones with such affection and care it seemed to embody his essence. Brian had the most genuine smile that could lift any spirit. Our angel ascended and departed this life on June 4, 2014.
Brian was loved by many and leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Megan Kauai, his mother, Kuuipo Salazar, his father, Henry Borden, his beloved daughter, Calista Kauai, his stepson, Israel Saenz, Carlos Saenz, five sisters; Cheyenne Hernandez, Malina Hernandez, Velvet Salazar, Avana Melendez, Katrina Borden, five brothers; Orion Salazar, Cyrus Salazar, Henry Borden Jr., Jacob Rivera, Having Borden; four nephews, Quinton Allen, Artus Pleasant, Kayden Melendez, Riley Melendez; two nieces, Lola Allen, Evangeline Melendez; his maternal grandfather, Abel Kauai, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his step-father Sammy Salazar Jr. and maternal grandmother, Margo Strid.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, from 2 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
