The District Attorney’s [auth] Office says District Judge Darren Kugler sentenced Cornelius Renteria to the maximum term on Monday.
A jury on May 8 convicted Renteria of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated burglary, child abuse and felon in possession of a firearm.
Christina Corral was beaten with a gun by Renteria after he forced his way into her home on March 27, 2013.
According to prosecutor Heather Chavez, all three of Corral’s young children witnessed the beating and remain traumatized.
