Woman injured Tuesday in hit-and-run

A woman is receiving medical care after being injured in a hit-and-run with a vehicle on Tuesday night.

Roswell Police officers responded to the area of Gayle Drive and South Emerald Street around 8:45 p.m. in [auth] reference to a 31-year-old woman who had been hit by a vehicle.

The woman, her boyfriend and their child were in the street observing a tarantula when a vehicle approached them.

The man was able to move the child out of the street. However, the woman was struck by the vehicle, according to the report.

The woman was transported to a local hospital and then flown out of town for further medical treatment.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle and the 21-year-old male suspect involved in the incident. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending for the male suspect.
