New Mexico man sought in fatal stabbing surrenders

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The FBI says a 34-year-old northwestern New Mexico man wanted in a 2013 fatal stabbing on the [auth] Navajo Nation is in custody after turning himself in.

The FBI says Shain Mark surrendered Friday at the federal courthouse in Albuquerque.

He was sought in the killing of 33-year-old Shawn Nez, whose body was found next to Highway 491 near Shiprock on Oct. 25.

According to the FBI, Mark most recently lived in Shiprock.
