Police Blotter: Burglars take $6,000 in lawn, garden tools

Roswell Police responded to numerous incidents on Tuesday, including a burglary of a garage from which thousands of dollars’ worth of lawn and garden tools were stolen.

A man reported the burglary on the 200 block of North Michigan Avenue. A garage door was forced open and approximately $6,000 worth of lawn and garden tools were taken.

Other incidents included, but were not limited to fraud, burglary, identity theft, shoplifting, domestic disturbances, and arson.


[auth] Trash fire gets out of hand

A fire was reported at approximately 10:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of West Summit Street, where a pile of trash had been set on fire.

A neighbor helped to douse the fire with his water hose. The Roswell Fire Department arrived and ensured the fire was extinguished. Both the Roswell Fire Department and the Roswell Police Department are investigating the case.


Woman reports check fraud

A woman reported to Roswell Police that she was the victim of fraud. She was reviewing her banking account and noticed a check valued at over $200 had been cashed without her authorization.


Power tools reported stolen

A man reported a burglary on the 400 block of East Brasher Road, where burglars had climbed through a window and stolen approximately $200 worth of hand and power tools.


Shoplifters strike

A shoplifting incident was reported at a store on the 400 block of South Main Street. A dress costing roughly $390 was stolen. Another shoplifting incident occurred at a retail store on the 2700 block of North Main Street, where a baby monitor valued at $250 was reported stolen.
