Police Blotter: Woman’s Social Security number used to file taxes

Identity theft

Police received a report from a woman who discovered a male subject filed taxes, using his own name, but filing under her social security number, Wednesday. The case has been forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division.

 

Larceny

Police responded to East Byrne Street Wednesday. The victim told officials that between March 4 and Wednesday, an oxygen generator, valued at $1,500, went missing while she had carpet installed and items moved around inside the residence.

 

Counterfeit money

Police were called to Allsup’s, 501 W. McGaffey St., Thursday after a male subject attempted to get change for a counterfeit $20 bill.
