Police Blotter: Walmart hit twice by shoplifters in one day

Police were called to Walmart, 4500 N. Main St., twice on Saturday.

During the first incident, a woman stole more than $400 worth of items. She walked out of the store without paying, with the items in her shopping cart. The shopping cart still containing the goods [auth] was located under some tumbleweeds in a field near Walmart. About two hours after the incident, the woman was found in the 1200 block of North Richardson Avenue. She was arrested.

During the second incident, two male subjects removed a backpack and whiskey. They ran from Walmart to the Roswell Mall. Officers found the two males (one adult, one juvenile) hiding in a dumpster at the mall. Both were given arrest citations.


Criminal damage

Police responded to Budget Inn, 2200 W. Second St., on Friday to take reports of criminal damage after two vehicles had their windows broken, with damages estimated at $400 and $350 respectively.
