Police Blotter: Robber grabs cash at Allsup’s

Roswell Police are searching for a man who robbed the Allsup’s Convenience Store at 1618 S. Union Ave. early Saturday morning.

At about 12:30 a.m. police responded to a robbery report at the store. According to police, a man entered the store and carried items up to the counter, as if checking out. The clerk had just finished with another [auth] customer, and the register was still open, when the man lunged over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the register.

The man then fled the store. He is described as being a tall Caucasian man, with a thin build.

The incident is still being investigated.


Woman arrested on drug charge

Early Monday morning, police arrested a Roswell woman in connection with a possession of marijuana charge following a traffic stop.

Rene Antillon, 18, was arrested after police stopped her vehicle on South Main Street near the intersection with McGaffey Street. The vehicle had an inoperative driver’s side taillight, according to police.


Burglars take police scanner, TV

Roswell Police responded to a burglary report on the 400 block of Forest Street where thieves took a flat-screen TV valued at $500 and a police scanner valued at $30.
