FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) — Authorities in Aztec didn’t have to go far to respond to some trouble in the form of some old dynamite in an old toolbox.

Police Sgt. Joe Gonzales says a Fire [auth] Department volunteer got the dynamite from a relative in Arizona. The volunteer took the toolbox and dynamite in her SUV and parked in front of the fire station on Wednesday evening.

She then told police what she had so it could be disposed of.

The Daily Times ( reports that police sealed off the area while evacuating the fire station and the municipal complex until the Farmington police bomb squad arrived and disposed of the dynamite.

Gonzales says the woman won’t be charged in the incident but he says she shouldn’t have been driving around with the old dynamite.
