State Police to conduct DWI checkpoints

New Mexico State Police will be conducting DWI checkpoints and patrol saturations throughout Chaves, Eddy and Lea counties, according to a [auth] news release issued on Thursday.

The projects will be conducted throughout the months of February, March and April.

The increased enforcement will target impaired drivers, underage drinking, aggressive and distracted drivers, according to the release.

State Police say these particular projects are an effort to reduce alcohol related crashes and alcohol related deaths within the community.
