Doggy Saviors will host a dog adoption [auth] event at Tractor Supply on Saturday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in celebration of “love your pet.”

Doggy Saviors is a rescue organization dedicated to saving death-row dogs from Roswell Animal Control. All of the babies that will be at this event are death-row survivors rescued by Doggy Saviors.

A wide variety of small to large dogs will be on display in search of their “furever” homes. All have been checked by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered and all are up to date on their shots.

The $100 adoption fee helps to cover only part of the costs to vet these survivors in hopes of finding them exceptional homes and can be considered a good deal.

Normal adoption fees at Animal Services run about $30 to $40. People have to sign an agreement to have their pet neutered, and animals more than 6 months of age have to have the neutering and shots appointments made and pre-paid before the animal can be released. Neutering costs from $100 to $200, depending on the vet and the size of the animal.

Doggy Saviors’ featured pet for adoption is the beautiful Zoey, a female German shepherd blend who is spayed and up to date on all shots.

Doggy Saviors maintains a page on Facebook featuring all of the dogs currently at Animal Control for adoption as well. The page, called “Roswell Urgent Animals at Animal Control,” has been successful in helping Doggy Saviors save hundreds of dogs from euthanasia, working in cooperation with out-of-state rescue organizations in Colorado and Utah.

Both states have people looking for dogs due to the their strong spay/neuter laws that help keep down the population of strays.
