Warrants issued for 2 men in stabbings in Hobbs

HOBBS, N.M. (AP) — Two men are sought in connection with a fatal stabbing and another stabbing in Hobbs.

Police say arrest warrants have been issued for 22-year-old Armando [auth] Espinoza and 25-year-old Michael Rodriguez in the Feb. 2.

They’re sought in the death of 17-year-old Oscar Mediano and the injury of 18-year-old Omar Cruz.

According to police, both were stabbed during a fight at a residence.

The warrant for Espinoza accuses him of second-degree murder and aggravated battery, while the warrant for Rodriguez charges him with being an accessory to murder and an accessory to aggravated battery.

Police say the two men are considered armed and dangerous.
