Police Blotter: Man returns home to find most items stolen

• Police were dispatched to Riverside Drive, Wednesday, where a man lost nearly everything — including the sink. Subjects forced open the back door sometime between Jan. 22 and Feb. 5, 2014, and stripped a home of dishes, utensils, a stove, furniture, tables and chairs, coffee table and floor lamps. They attempted to remove the refrigerator, without [auth] success. The items were valued at $18,000.

• Police responded to an alarm call in the 900 block of North Edgewood Avenue, Wednesday, after subjects forced entry into a residence, stealing a flat screen television, valued at $1,000, and a dog valued at $3,000 (breed unknown). Damages to the rear door were estimated at $250.



Police received a report of embezzlement from Avis Car Rental, 1 Jerry Smith Circle, Wednesday, after a 22-year-old woman rented a car on Dec. 17, 2014, and did not return it. The red Ford Escape was valued at $20,000.


Criminal damage

Police were called to the 700 block of West Hervey Drive, Wednesday, where a man returned home after leaving his residence for about an hour to discover a glass door shattered. The damages were assessed at $300.
