ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Light snow and icy road conditions are making driving difficult on many highways around the Albuquerque area.
Albuquerque police say multiple accidents were reported Wednesday night on sections on Interstate 40 due to the weather.
There were no immediate reports of any deaths or serious injuries.
New Mexico Department of Transportation officials also reported difficult driving conditions on sections of Interstate 25 as well as U.S. 64 west of I-25 and state highways 434, 518 and 209 due to snow-packed and icy roads.
NMDOT crews were out plowing, salting and cindering the highways Wednesday night.
Snow and ice also struck parts of New Mexico on Tuesday when Albuquerque got about 3 inches of snow, ending a record-breaking 43-day winter dry spell for the state’s largest city.
