A rosary will be recited for Pablo “Paul” Marquez Rodriguez, 59, of Roswell, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at St. Peter’s Church with Fr. Gonzalo Moreno officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Paul passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home.
Paul was born Nov. 4, 1954 in Artesia, to Jesus Maria Rodriguez and Guillerma Marquez.
Paul was a member of Special Olympic Bowling State Chaps (2010), employee of the month at K-Mart, graduated from Tobosa Life Skills class, an accomplished guitar player and a fantastic harmonica player. He was a big part of the raising of his nephews and nieces, and he loved music and was a great dancer. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by six siblings, many nephews and nieces and many, many friends. Paul was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Maria Rodriguez; his mother, Guyllermina Rodriguez; and a brother, Raymond Rodriguez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Montoya, Sergio Aguilar, Edward Aguilar, Albert Sifuentes and Sam Sifuentes.
