A contingency of students from Arapahoe High School in Colorado will visit Pearson Auditorium S[auth] aturday, at 4 p.m. to show support for those affected by the shooting at Berrendo Middle School.
All those affected by the shooting at Berrendo or the Dec. 13 shooting at Arapahoe High are invited to attend the event.
The Arapahoe High students’ visit is the result of collaboration between Berrendo grandparent Melissa Urban and Arapahoe student David Courtney.
Courtney created a video Jan. 14 expressing his support for victims of the Berrendo shooting. Urban contacted Courtney Jan. 16 to discuss the possibility of bringing the high school students to Roswell.
The cause was ultimately picked up by Natasha Mackey, a candidate for City Council. Mackey set up a fundraising link on-line with the goal of raising $2,000. The goal was quickly reached, making Saturday’s visit possible.
