A vigil with rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Ballard Chapel for Benny Aragon, 74, who passed away on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at his home. Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Josh Duplissey presiding. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, from 1 – 7 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Home.
Benny Aragon [auth] was born April 6, 1939, in Manzano, to Boney and Ramonsita Aragon. He was raised by Roque and Esperfia Romero, who all preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Joe Romero and Pat Aragon; his sisters: Peggy Fisher, Margie Carrie, Verna Martinez and Juanita Aragon and nephew, Gilbert Romero. Benny married Eva Madril on Oct. 17, 1970; she survives him at the family home.
Benny is also survived his sisters: Ester Romero, of Roswell, Lydia Eimer and husband, Larry, of Long Beach, Calif., and Bertha Laborde and husband, Butch, of Dayton, Texas; brothers: Frank Aragon, Abe Aragon and wife, Natlia, of Paris, Calif.; sisters-in-law: Eufemia Romero, of Roswell, Mary Zamora, of Tuscon, Ariz., and Inez Tafoya, of Amarillo, Texas; brothers-in-law: Lou Madril and wife, Naomi, Arnold Madril and Clara, all of Roswell, Ambrose Madril and wife, Josefina, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and James Madril and wife, Jennifer, of Chinook, Mont., and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to his sister-in-law, Eufemia Romero, for all her help with Benny and all their friends from McDonald’s.
Serving as pallbearers are Junior Brazfield, Louie Romero, Felix Romero, Roque Romero, Manuel Medina, Danny Longoria and Ernie Giron. Honorary pallbearers are Ambrose Madril, Lou Madril, Arnold Madril and Tony Brazfield.
