Doggy Saviors will hold an adoption event Saturday at Roswell Tractor Supply, 5000 N. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“We will have a large variety of small, medium and larger size dogs,” said Sammye Leflar-Bohnstehn.

The adoption fee is $100. The figure includes the cost of spaying or neutering, shots, [auth] rabies tags and certificates.

Leflar-Bohnstehn said the dogs are all survivors of the Roswell Urgent Animals from Animal Control, who were saved at the last minute from being euthanized. Each animal has been fully checked. They are currently in foster homes. The dogs await a forever home and a person to love.

The public is invited to come out and join the fun.

“Come find your next family member,” Leflar-Bohnstehn said.

Among the dogs offered are a Chihuahua called “Romeo,” and Jackson, a 12-week-old Chihuahua/beagle cross. Leflar-Bohnstehn explained that Jackson is currently on shots and the new family will receive a certificate for neutering when he reaches 6 months.

The purpose of Doggy Saviors is to give the animals a second chance at a happy, healthy life.

“The more adoptions we have, the more lives we can save from Animal Control by opening up foster homes for us to pull and save more,” Leflar-Bohnstehn said.

She urged people to visit the Roswell Urgent Animals at Animal Control and Roswell Urgent Cats at Animal Control pages on Facebook to see what dogs and cats are available for adoption at Roswell Animal Services.

The event will serve other dogs, provided by Hondo River Hot Dog Company.
