2 Eunice men arrested in meth bust

EUNICE, N.M. (AP) — Two southeastern New Mexico men have been arrested on suspicion of trafficking methamphetamine following a months-long investigation.

The Hobbs News-Sun reports ( ) that [auth] Eunice residents 31-year-old Juan Duran and 32-year-old Ramon Perez were arrested this week and charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Authorities say the pair had methamphetamine with a street value of around $33,000.

The arrests came after a long investigation by the Lea County Drug Task Force.

Michael Wilson, Lea County Drug Task Force commander, says methamphetamine abuse has become a problem in Lea County and the bust was one of the largest in recent memory for the area.
