The Roswell Police Department arrested Chris topher Vicks, 27, around 8;45 p.m., on Dec. 31, after Pecos Valley Communication Center received a call about man setting fire to the fields near the intersection of Honalulu and YO Roads.
According to the police, when emergency services arrived, they discovered a burning bush. Vicks told officials that he lit a fire, using his lighter, because he was cold. Public Information Liaison Sabrina Morales said Vicks was not homeless and could provide no reason why he was in the area.
The Roswell Fire Department put out the fire, and RPD arrested Vicks. She stated that Vicks was compliant until officers placed the handcuffs on him and he was put in the patrol unit. Then, he began to kick at doors and windows, trying to get out.
Vicks was charged with inappropriate use of a fire and resisting arrest.
