Shooting after minor car accident

Officers with [auth] the Roswell Police Department responded to the 300 block of South Delaware Avenue in reference to a shooting around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

RPD Public Information Liaison Sabrina Morales said the female victim, who was travelling southbound on Delaware Avenue, stopped at a stop sign at the corner of Delaware and Tilden Street. The woman was texting and failed to noticed another vehicle traveling west on Tilden. When the Chevy Tahoe entered the intersection, it struck the rear passenger side of the oncoming vehicle.

The woman stopped to exchange insurance information with the other driver. A man exited the vehicle with a gun in his hand. The woman fled the area when he started to shoot at her vehicle.

As officers attempted to locate vehicles involved in the accident and the shooting, the victim drove to the police department to report the incident.

According to the police report, the Chevy Tahoe sustained $1,250 worth of damage to the rear passenger door and window, along with the rear quarter panel.

No one was injured during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

    Good grief, woman. You could have injured or killed someone all because you were texting? If you weren’t ticketed, you should have been. As for the shooter, you obviously need anger management as well as a jail term.
