Roswell man dies in vehicle collision

A Roswell man, Kevin Avery, 37, died Saturday after his motorcycle crashed into a car that was turning onto Main Street.

[auth] The accident occurred around 3 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of North Main and 12th streets.

The driver told officials she was leaving Cattle Baron restaurant. When she arrived at the stop sign she looked both left and right before trying to cross the intersection, heading west.

A witness reported that he heard loud exhaust as a motorcycle accelerated. As the driver of the Mitsubishi entered Main Street, it was struck from the side by the motorcycle which was travelling northbound at a high rate of speed.

Emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene and attempted to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Avery later succumbed to his injuries.

According to the police, no charges will be pursued following the death of Avery.
