Ellagray Butts-Ross

Ross-obit-picEllagray Butts-Ross peacefully passed away Dec. 17, 2013, 1:30 pm. She resided at The Valley Inn Nursing Home Mancos, Colo.

Ellagray was born April 22, 1922. She was born in Ada, Okla., to Marie Elizabeth and Arthur James Miller. She had four brothers: Jack, John, Bill, and Howard. Howard gave his life for our country in World [auth] War II, during the invasion of Sicily. John is living in Austin, Texas. She also had one sister, Helen. Preceding her in death her oldest son, Morris Butts; and her youngest daughter Rebecca.

Still alive is her middle son, William R. Butts, of Capitan. She has five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ellagray spent most of her life taking care of others as a dedicated mother and wife. She resided most of her life in Dexter and Roswell. Her husband of more than 50 years, Bryon, also of Dexter. Upon Byron’s death, she married Thomas R. Ross, who also preceded her in death. Thomas R. (Bob) Ross and Ellagray resided in Roswell.

Cremation in Cortez, Colo. Her remains will be buried along with her daughter, with her deceased husband, Byron Butts, at the Hagerman Cemetery near Dexter. A celebration of life will be held April 22, 2014, at the Church of Christ on Country Club Road in Roswell and the Church of Christ in Dexter.
