Stephen Deutch of First Presbyterian Church of Dexter will be officiating. There will be a luncheon following the services at First Presbyterian Church, 201 W. 5th St., Dexter.
David was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Roswell, to Glenn Knoll and Gladys Juacile Knoll. His parents preceded him in death. David was also preceded in death by his brother, Buck Knoll.
David grew up in Dexter and Bowie, Ariz. He had three [auth] siblings: Buck, Sylvia and Harvey. David delighted in telling colorful, entertaining stories regarding his upbringing on the farm and the ways he and his siblings engaged in mischief. Anyone who spent time with David would eventually hear of his high school days in Bowie, his great childhood friends, and his college days in Tucson, Ariz.
David married Carolyn Lewis on Feb. 10, 1973, at the JY Ranch, north of Roswell. They have two children: Shawna Knoll and Dana Gray.
David graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 1965. Over the next 30 years, he built his reputation in the feed industry in Southern New Mexico and proudly ended his career as the US Dairy Division Sales Manager with Hi-Pro. He greatly enjoyed 18 years with Hi-Pro and the opportunity to build the business and serve the community. He loved to hunt and fish. He especially loved to take his grandson rattlesnake hunting on the ranch. When his children were growing up, David spent many hours and weekends taking the kids, cousins and their friends water-skiing, camping, and concert hoping. David’s warm generous spirit touched the lives of many and he will be dearly missed by his family, friends and the community.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Knoll, of Dexter; children: Shawna Knoll, of Albuquerque, and Dana Gray, of Glendale, Ariz.; grandchildren: Donavan Ball, of Glendale, Ariz., Kaden Gray, of Glendale, Ariz., and Jacquelyn Gray, of Glendale, Ariz.; and his siblings: Sylvia Luce and Harvey Knoll.
