Steve Silva, 74, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away Tuesday December 24, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Steve was born on August 3, 1939, in Tornillo, Texas, to Gomesindo and Ellizabeth V. Silva. Steve was a trucker for 40 years. He was known as “wino” on the CB and enjoyed every part of being a truck driver. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs. Steve loved his family and was always cracking jokes. He left a special mark on everyone’s heart. He was much loved and will be missed by all.
Steve is survived by his wife Florencia Silva, his children: Richard, Robert (Susie), Tommy (Yvonna), Rachel, Jaime, and Esteban Jr., his grandchildren: Crystal Silva Regalado, Veronica (Mike), Isidro, Amanda, Jacob, Jovani, Jason (Kristin), Lesenia (Matthew), Benishia, Atlanta, Acelen, and Azaiden. He was greatly loved by his five great-grand-children. His brothers and sisters: Nieves Ramey, Chido Silva Jr. (Patsy), Adella (Carl), Griffith, Fay, Albert (Mary), Eppie, Maggie Garrison, Fernando (Sheila), Jesse, Linda Alywin and James (Ruth) also survive him.
Steve was preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy Ramona Mercedes Barrera Silva, parents Gomesindo and Elizabeth V. Silva, his brother Marcello Silva and sister-in-law Debbie Jean Silva. Pallbearers will be Richard Silva, Robert Silva, Tommy Silva, Jaime Silva, Esteban Silva Jr. and Isidro Gonzalez.
