Erica Peterson, 25, and John Ornelas, 25, who were featured on Roswell’s Most Wanted last week, were apprehended Sunday.
Roswell police reported the two were arrested at 5 p.m. on the 100 block of North Kansas Avenue after a tip led officers to the address.
Officers attempted to serve warrants on Peterson and Ornelas, according to Roswell Police Department spokesperson Sabrina Morales.
Peterson was wanted for a probation violation on original charges of robbery and receiving stolen property. Ornelas was wanted for a probation violation following a conviction on charges of battery, false imprisonment and possession of a controlled substance.
“While searching the residence, one officer located Peterson hiding in a room,” Morales reported Monday.
Peterson was then arrested.
Officers found Ornelas hiding behind a couch. According to police, he would not show his hands to officers.
“Instead, he told them he had a knife and was going to stab himself,” Morales wrote in a release. “After several minutes, Ornelas put the knife down.”
He was arrested.
“Contrary to online reports, no other persons were threatened by Ornelas,” according to Morales.
Peterson and Ornelas were incarcerated at the Chaves County Detention Center.
Ornelas’ charges include probation violation, armed robbery, forgery, and remote financial service act violation.
