Faustino-Rodriguez2A rosary will be recited for Faustino L. Rodriguez, 66, of Roswell, at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Faustino at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Charlie Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Hagerman Cemetery. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25. Faustino passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.

Faustino was born Feb. 15, 1947, to Salvador Rodriguez and Mercedes Lopez in Nayarit, Mexico.

Faustino was better known as “Chano” to all that loved him. Chano was the most honest, kind-hearted, generous and [auth] hardworking man you ever want to meet. He always had a bright smile and kind word for everyone that knew him. At the young age of 5, he worked in gardening to help provide for his family in Mexico.

Around the age of 15, he found a new life in America, where he was able to develop his artistry and many talents in gardening.

He started his career working at Disneyland in California as a groundskeeper, nurturing its many beautiful gardens. Chano took great pride in his work and was extremely dedicated to all the people he worked for. Chano took care of every detail without ever being asked, he just did it.

Driving around Roswell you can easily pick out his beautiful gardens in the homes and business which holds the mark of his artistry. Heaven’s gardens will grow brighter.

Chano lived his dream of becoming an American, in his heart he was a proud American. He will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends who loved him.

He was a devoted Catholic who lived his faith by always giving thanks and praise to God. To know Chano was to dearly love Chano. ADIOS Mi AMIGO!

Faustino is survived by his wife, Esperanza Guevara; stepsons: Richard, Roy and Danny Guevara; stepdaughters: Bonnie Carrasco and Virgie Lara; numerous grandkids, as well as family in Nayarit, Mexico.

Pallbearers: Ebby Krebs, Donald Taylor, Chris Carrasco, Domenic Carrasco, Richard Guevara and Leeroy Guevara.
