Funeral services for Dalton Truitt “Stogie, Cowboy” Waldrop, 81, will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Church of Christ in Dexter, with Robert Bowels officiating. Burial will follow at Hagerman Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Roswell Veterans. Dalton passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.
Dalton was born to Charles Waldrop and Buellah Hays Waldrop on Aug. 12, 1932, in Denton, Texas. He married Inge Bald on Dec. 20, 1958. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting, working with livestock, was a well driller and loved to work.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 54 years, Inge; six children: Paul Waldrop and his wife, Rene, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Bridgett Mairot and her husband, Danny, of Roswell, Gina Massangale and her husband, Gary, of Moses Lake, Wash., James Waldrop, of Roswell, Michael Waldrop and his wife, Kamala, of Deming, Alan Waldrop and his wife, Dustie, of Roswell; his sister, Thelma Minch, of Deming; three brothers: Bob Waldrop and Charlie Waldrop, both of Deming, and Thomas Waldrop, of Boise, Idaho; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Dalton was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Buellah Waldrop.
Pallbearers will be Mike, Alan, James, Mike II, Paul and Justin Waldrop, Donivan Dickinson and Danny Mairot.
