GonzalezFuneral services for Zeferina Villegas Gonzales, 82, of Roswell, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Miguel Arpero officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, Nov.10, 2013, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Zeferina passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, in Lubbock, Texas.

Zeferina was born on Nov. 5, 1931, in Chichuahua, Mexico, to Ignacio Villegas and Manuela Mendoza. She married Antonio Gonzalez in 1949. They had 10 children. In 1964, [auth] they moved from Chihuahua, Mexico, to Tinnie, and in 1977, they moved to Roswell, where they resided until their death.

She was known to be a “great prayer warrior.” One of favorite Bible verses is Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Zeferina was a homemaker and raised her children with lots of tender love and care and was the best mother any child could ever want. “A mother holds her children for a little while…but her love remains forever. Amen!” She had so much love for everyone she met and was a very friendly and social person.

Those left to cherish her memories are her brother, Roberto Villegas; her four sons: Manuel Gonzalez and his wife, Maria, Jaime Gonzalez and his wife, Maria Cruz, Jesus Antonio Gonzalez and his wife, Debbie, and Frank Gonzalez; six daughters: Jenny Arpero and her husband, Miguel, Hope Gauna, Rosa Sisneros and her husband, Joe, Gloria Gonzalez Vigil, Bertha Alicia Gonzalez Mireles and Lori Lucero and her husband, Ernesto Lucero, 28 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one unborn great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ignacio Villegas and Manuela Mendoza; her husband, Antonio Gonzalez; two grandchildren; four sisters, one brother and many of her dear friends.

Pallbearers are Manuel Gonzales, Jaime Gonzales, Jesus Antonio “Chuy” Gonzales, Frank Gonzales, Jorge Gonzales, Isaac Gonzales, Ernesto Lucero and Andrew Gonzalez.

Honorary pallbearers are Joe Sisneros, Gabriel Sisneros, Tony Sisneros, Michael Jaramillo, Starla

Gonzales, Kristian Gonzalez, Martin Gonzales, Simon Cano Jr., Emilio Gonzales, Everson Simpson, Michael, Harmel, A.J. Gonzales, Frankie Gonzales Jr., Daniel Gonzales, Samuel Gonzales and Jaime Gonzales Jr.
