Tobie Davidson passed away peacefully on Oct. 26, 2013, at 85 years of age. She was born Jan. 3, 1928, in San Angelo, Texas. She married Isidoro Gonzalez in 1950, and eventually moved to Odessa, Texas, where together they had four children: Alicia (Alice), Arthur, George and Raymond. Tobie was a loving mother, diligent homemaker and good cook for her family during the 18 years they were married.
In 1972, she married Ed Davidson, and they enjoyed rural living, fishing and camping for many years. They moved to Colorado City, Texas, in 2005.
The highlight of Tobie’s life was becoming a servant of Jehovah God and his Son, Jesus Christ. She felt then that she truly [auth] blossomed, losing her shyness and gaining inner peace and strength. Dedicating her life as a Christian witness of Jehovah, she was baptized on July 12, 1968, alongside her daughter, Alicia. During her 45 years of faithful service, she helped many to learn Bible truths regarding Jehovah and his wonderful qualities. Treasuring the Bible’s hope of living forever in a paradise Earth free from pain, mourning and death (Rev. 21 :4; Psalm 37:10, 11, 29) and by relying on Jehovah’s holy spirit, she was able to share this Bible’s message with anyone willing to listen.
Tobie glowed with a youthful spirit and a kind, generous heart. She quickly made friends and was well-known for her beautiful hats and matching jewelry and shoes. Tobie enjoyed feeding her family tasty dishes; her tamales were a favorite of many. Due to her love of gardening, growing many fruits, vegetables and flowers, she was even recognized in the local newspaper for having the most beautiful yard in her neighborhood.
While we will miss her greatly, we hope to be reunited with her in paradise on Earth when she will be awakened from death in the resurrection made possible by the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ. John 5:28, 29; Matthew 5:5; Matthew 6:9, 10.
Tobie was preceded in death by her son, George (8 years of age), her infant son, Arthur; and infant great-grandson, Luke; her brothers: Jose Angel Hernandez, Juan Hernandez and Augustine Hernandez. She is survived by her husband, Ed Davidson; her sisters: Maggie Galindo, of Arizona, Lillie Urban, of Dexter, and Andrea Hernandez, of Roswell; her brother, Pete Hernandez, of Roswell; her daughter, Alicia Davidian, and Alicia’s husband, Tim; her son, Raymond Gonzalez; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved.
