ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A Crownpoint man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of a woman last year has been sentenced to 30 months in federal [auth] prison.

Federal prosecutors say 25-year-old Sampson Antonio Jr. also was ordered Monday to pay more than $4,000 in restitution to cover the victim’s funeral costs.

Antonio was arrested in July 2012 on suspicion of driving a vehicle while intoxicated and fatally running over a 19-year-old woman at Mariano Lake on April 21, 2012.

Prosecutors say Antonio admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol and driving recklessly.
