ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A Crownpoint man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of a woman last year has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison.
Federal prosecutors say 25-year-old Sampson Antonio Jr. also was ordered Monday to pay more than $4,000 in restitution to cover the victim’s funeral costs.
Antonio was arrested in July 2012 on suspicion of driving a vehicle while intoxicated and fatally running over a 19-year-old woman at Mariano Lake on April 21, 2012.
Prosecutors say Antonio admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol and driving recklessly.
Antonio will be on three years of supervised release after serving his prison sentence.
