Albuquerque man claims retirement funds stolen

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — An Albuquerque man who stashed his retirement money in a friend’s garage [auth] says it has been stolen.

Craig Blanchard says he had been storing $135,000 in the garage because he doesn’t trust banks and thought his friend had an alarm system.

That friend called him Sunday morning to say the money was gone.

KOB-TV ( ) reports that Santa Fe County detectives found no sign of forced entry.

Blanchard is offering to award a portion of the money to whoever returns it.
