SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Authorities say an Albuquerque man is in custody for allegedly taking his 3-year-old daughter from her grandmother who has power of attorney over the girl.
Santa Fe police say 27-year-old Christopher Quinones was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at a store after receiving a tip.
Police officers say the baby was with Quinones and is in the custody of child protective services.
The grandmother was worried that Quinones might harm the child and called police.
Authorities say Quinones is wanted in Albuquerque on a felony warrant for violating his probation and failure to appear in court.
Police say Quinones is being held in the Santa Fe County Jail and likely will also be facing charges of resisting arrest and possession of synthetic marijuana.
