SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Democratic Sen. Linda Lopez of Albuquerque reports raising about $25,300 for her campaign for governor since entering the race earlier this year.
Lopez’s campaign had cash-on-hand of $16,692 as of Oct. 7.
Her fundraising trailed Democratic candidate Gary King, who had a cash balance of $142,441 and collected about $175,000 during the past six months.
Republican Gov. Susana Martinez has nearly $3.3 million in her re-election account — 20 times more than the combined balances of King and Lopez.
Democratic Sen. Howie Morales of Silver City says he plans to enter the race for governor.
Lopez’s campaign filed its finance report shortly before midnight, well after a 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline. The secretary of state’s office said no late penalties will be assessed because the report was filed Tuesday.
