Deputies from the Chaves County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the area around Berrendo Volunteer Fire Department, Thursday, when a citizen noticed blood seeping from a trash compactor located near the facility. The deputies had to follow a garbage truck to the dump and wait until sanitation workers could open up the compacter when they discovered the blood came from the remains of an elk.
Police responded to the area of Michigan and 12th Street, Wednesday, following a suspicious-subjects call. Officers received a report that the motorcycle found on Michigan was stolen from the 800 block of West 12th Street. The motorcycle was valued at $1,500.
Police were called to 600 block of South Wyoming Avenue, Wednesday, after subjects broke a window. Officials found blood at the scene. A blood sample and a water sample were taken. Replacement costs were estimated at $200.
