A rosary will be recited for Cindy Kay (Ramirez) Gonzalez, 45, of Roswell, on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Fr. Charlie Martinez officiating.
Cindy passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013, after a courageous, 5-month battle with cancer.
Cindy was born June 22, 1968, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was a loving mother, “Lita,” sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She enjoyed music, dancing and especially enjoyed watching her Dexter Demons.
Originally from Dexter, Cindy recently moved to Andrews, Texas. She is a 1986 graduate of Dexter High School. She spent many years as a medical receptionist with Dr. Scott McMahon, and recently at Elite Medical.
Cindy married Gary Gonzalez on July 9, 1988, in Dexter NM; he survives her at the family home in Andrews, TX. She is also survived by their three children, Meghan Sanchez, husband Miguel, of Hagerman; son, Christian and daughter, Cecilia, of Andrews, TX. Grandchildren, Esmeralda, Miguel Jr., and Annalee Sanchez.
Others left to cherish her memory are her parents Annie and McGinn Sandoval, brothers Paul Sandoval, and McGinn Sandoval and his girlfriend Lindsey Swarengin; sister Margarita Sandoval, and Lisa Sandoval, all of Dexter. Biological father, Fernando Reyes, brothers Fernando Reyes Jr. and his wife Judith, of El Paso; Richard Reyes, his wife Marcella Reyes of Las Cruces. In-laws, Clifford and Dora Gonzalez of Roswell; brother-in-law Clifford Gonzalez III, his wife Dustie of Clovis, NM.; sister-in-law Clarissa Gonzalez-Adams, her husband Jason of Roswell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cindy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rosendo and Dora Ramirez of Dexter; Rosario Reyes of Midway; uncles Robert and Andrew Ramirez of Dexter.
