Man accused of making dozens of harassing calls

CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) — Police say [auth] there may be more victims of lewd and harassing calls made by a Carlsbad man who has been charged with felony solicitation of a child.

Police tell the Carlsbad Current-Argus ( there could be up to 30 other females of varying ages who received sexually explicit calls from 21-year-old Anthony Hernandez.

Hernandez was arrested Saturday on 10 counts of criminal child solicitation by electronic device, one count of extortion and two counts of aggravated stalking.

Records from the two cellphones Hernandez used to contact his victims show he dialed several distinct numbers, calling each several times daily in what one source says was an ‘obsessive’ manner.

Hernandez is being held in the Eddy County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash-only bond.

Police say the investigation continues as police try to contact other potential victims.
