Bentheen “Benny” “Gini” Reynolds, 76, of Kearney and formerly of Roswell, NM, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at the St. Luke’s Good Samaritan Village in Kearney. No services are planned at this time. There will be no visitation. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home of Kearney is in charge of arrangements.
Bentheen “Benny” “Gini” Reynolds was born September 25, 1936, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Benjamin and Kate Grace (Speer) Livingston. She was a 1954 graduate of North Platte High School. Gini taught baton twirling and dance in the North Platte area during the 1950’s. On January 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Edward Jones in Neosho, Iowa. She later married Jack A. Reynolds in Seattle, WA, in 1966. She was the owner and operator of Gini’s Pretty Pets in North Platte in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Gini relocated to Roswell, New Mexico in 1989, where she continued to run Gini’s Pretty Pets until retiring in 2013. She was active in 4-H.
Survivors include her son, Kent Reynolds and wife, Mary, of Kearney; grandson, Logan Reynolds, of Lincoln; granddaughter, Devon Reynolds of Omaha; brother, Jerry Livingston, of Ripon, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and special friend, Bobby Michelet.
