Santa Fe police have images from stolen iPad

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Santa Fe police have what could be very helpful evidence in identifying the person who stole an iPad, an iPod Touch, a laptop and three hard [auth] drives from a home on Aug. 20.

Police say the victim called police after syncing his device with an online storage service and finding what appears to be a self-portrait of a man — apparently taken with the stolen iPad by accident.

Santa Fe police say the victim of an earlier theft of an iPhone also obtained images of the possible thief of that device by syncing the software.

The iPhone was stolen two months ago at a gas station as a motorist paid the cashier.
