Erminia “Minnie” Licon Garcia

A rosary will be recited for Erminia “Minnie” Licon Garcia, 82, of Roswell, NM, at 9 a.m. with Mass to follow, on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Deacon Ernesto Martinez officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at South Park Cemetery. Erminia passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Visitation will be at 12 p.m.-8 p.m., Monday, September 2, 2103, at the funeral home.

Erminia was born March 4, 1931, in [auth] Spur, Texas, to Ramon Licon and Rosenda Rodriguez Licon. She was a resident of Roswell and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church for 73 years. Erminia enjoyed going to the casino and bingo, she liked watching golf, and her favorite player was Tiger Woods. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and loved spending time with her family and going to church.

Erminia is survived by her sons: Johnny Garcia III and Ron L. Garcia and his wife, Marylou; grandchildren: Crystal Martinez, Johnny Ray Garcia, Ron Jon Garcia and Ramon J. Garcia; two great-grandchildren: Jacob Garcia and Adam Garcia Lucero; her sister, Elisa Romero; her brothers: Ramon Licon and wife, Sandy, Jesse Licon and Gilbert Licon; brother-in-law, Marion Nulf; numerous nieces and nephews; and family friend, Lalo Aguilar.

Erminia was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny T. Garcia; son, Johnny Garcia II; parents: Ramon and Rosenda Licon; sister, Helen Nulf; brothers: Jose Licon and Rudolfo Licon; brother-in-law, Roberto Romero; companion, Leo Sena; her father and mother in-law, Gus and Lola Garcia.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy, Ray and Rudy Romero, Lalo Aguilar, Hector Lujan and Sam Martinez.

The family would like to thank Robert Tucker, Mary Devos and the paramedics for their assistance and compassion during our time of loss.
