Funeral services for Barry D. Brown, 71, of Roswell, will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Grant officiating, followed by graveside service at Memory Lawn Cemetery with the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard providing Military Honors. Barry passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at his home with his beloved wife at his side.

Barry was born in McCamey, Texas on March 30, 1942, to Harold Shelly Brown and Lois Vernell Bynum Brown. He married Mary H. Lenderman on January 14, 1982, in Deming, NM. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked mainly in construction as a power lineman. Barry never met a stranger and was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed auctions, catering and was a very talented woodworker. He started each day with a strong cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle and always enjoyed a challenging game of chess. He loved volunteering and helping others at Berrendo Baptist Church. Barry is a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 25-year member of the IBEW, Local 611 and a member of Berrendo Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Mary; children: Rebeccah La Nan Brown (Dan Jones), Jimmy Dale Simpson (Brenda), Allan Hale Simpson (Jennifer) and Barry Douglas Brown (Verna); sister, Pat Wallas, of California; sister-in-laws: Kathy Keene (Leo), of Roswell, and Margret Hardin, of Roswell; brother-in-law, Cecil Lenderman (Sue), of Graham, WA; grandchildren: Dan Jones Jr. (Mari), Jessica Mounger (Chris), Clinton Simpson, Justin Mims, Breanna Simpson, Cheyenne Simpson, Lane Dale, Lana Dale, Lance Dale, and Cody Simpson; great-grandchildren: Jessie Simpson, Jamie Simpson, Christopher Jones, Sheala Jones, Gavin Mounger, Annalee Mounger; and several nieces and nephews.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents: Harold Shelly Brown and Lois Bynum Brown; and one infant son, Barry Richard Brown.

Serving as pallbearers are Leslie Keene, Terry Lewis, Chuck Sampsom, Bill Kilgore, Larry Fry and Wade Miller.
